the SUN is finally shining and all is...

well! Take a look-I am alive and writing postcards outside in the sunshine-a faculty member, Joan was kind enough to take a picture of me, so you can see that I am actually behind the camera.

Started the day off with Yoga at 6am, little breakfast with my famous french press-the deal is if you sit with me, I share my 4 cups of coffee-instant way to make friends-students are even sitting down and joining in! Captain's meeting followed by Global studies, although Bob and I walked around the ship to see what loose end students might be lingering-we only found 1! AMAZING! Then Admin meeting, the noon report (I go to the bridge and read where we are, how many nautical miles left to go, water temperature, etc),

work on the Dean's memo with Kate and Ryan one of our work study, who is pictured here-what a God send-she has been great fun-she loves to laugh, so clearly we get along well!

A little lunch catch all today with preparing for the logistical pre-port meeting with the entire community which I coordinate and then..today...FREE TIME...I went on the back deck and wrote postcards and enjoyed the sun.

Here is something different than before...satellite phones-a student off the back deck talking to whomever on the mainland~sure is a different world! Of course, I would not be able to do this if we did not have internet as well...but it sure makes for a different kind of disconnection that we once had with no communication other than snail mail and internet cafe's in port!

Need to make the 1700 annoucement in a little bit, so signing off for now...aloha and mahalo for joining me around the world! Until tomorrow then...ro
