Good night, VIETNAM!!!

Wow, what a port stop~I have already eluded to the amazing time I had up in Cambodia and then today in Ho Chi Mingh~cruised the city streets, got some last minute errands done, of course finished up on my power shopping, had some amazing Vietnamese food at some fabulous restaurants that I frequented last time I was here (Yukimi, I must say my visit to Lemongrass and Pete, taking Koung to Vietnam House brought back fond memories of our daily visit there in 2000!) ! I am "home" now, waiting for all of the baby chicks to arrive home as well! We don't leave until tomorrow morning, but I am a bit anxious to see if everyone makes it in tonight

YES, another typhoon hit Vietnam, but fortunately all students were able to somehow make it back to the great blue mother, except for the Doctor and his wife Margaret, who are stuck in Da Nang and will meet eventually in Myanmar-YES, we even leave the doctor behind! Fortunately it was also touch and go for Dr. Bob Vieira and his wife and son as well, but with the help of our travel agents, he was able to get back late this afternoon-phew! Not interested YET in being the Executive Dean, even for 4 days!

So, here is the recap...first day shopping, yummy food, more shopping and more yummy food! Day 2, leave for Cambodia at 9:30am, flew to Phenom Penh for 1 day/night~and then the next day to Riem Reap for 1day/night~then home for one last day in Vietnam.

The most amazing experience is the amount of motorbikes, bicycles, cars, buses, cyclo drivers and people who all try to co-exist in downtown Ho Chi Mingh city...I am trying to figure out how to attach a video, as I want you to have this experience with me...gotta get my techies involved, but stay tuned.

I will put highlights here of Ho Chi Mingh, but due take a look back at the last entry for photos of Cambodia...just teasers though...still have to leave some photos for the slide show which I definitely will do~of course all of you are laughing, as you never saw the one from 2000!!! Digital is much easier to "produce", so stay tuned... I will also do an entire Cambodia blog now~I have to sort my photos out first..stay tuned!
