what day is today?
one knows life gets interesting when one honestly cannot put days and days of the week together...and that would be me today...other than knowing that we arrived back in the Bahamas on the 9th and mom's flight would be heading back to San Francisco and that our spring, 2011 training starts on Sunday, i would not have been able to put that together today! ahhhhh, back to a days and b days for this worldly girl! you see, when sailing around the world on the great "blue mother" the mv explorer, she only deals with 2 days of the week, a days and b days when classes are held...and then she does not count the days in between because she knows you are in port exploring the world...so from now on, you will probably start reading about a days, free days and b days and then references to places like manous brazil (or better known as the Amazon River) and such!
but before we move onto that, let's complete the amazing end to the Alumni Voyage story...so the Olympics were fun and of course our Fall 06ers won strong and won proud~a bit competitive for most everyone else on board, AND I say they were highly spirited and engaged in being a team! And of course there was only one other team involved! Here is one pics of the 06 guys after the find the m&m in the whip cream competition~serious competition!!!!
I layed low the rest of the day as fever and a sore throat came over me as with several others and in light of the evening affairs to come, the Captains dinner! my mom and I sat with some great alumni from a variety of voyages (some I knew and some I met ) and at the next table were some fellow staff 06ers pictured here
~we missed the rest of you out there and hope you will join in either next year or at minimum at our 10 year~you were talked about and missed. And of course my fellow F00 crew that were here last year in grand numbers were not here this time around...perhaps next year then...although I did get to catch up with Stuart Saunders who has now become El Presidente for the Alumni Board as part of our F00 crew-gosh, if only the walls of the old ship could share stories with this one about the good ole days....we will keep them there and move on...
so tonight, I am in my room alone, having sent mom off home to SF early this morning~flights were being cancelled right and left with Delta through Atlanta so she was going to see if she could jump on an earlier flight to get home before 1am! I need a long and good nights rest for tomorrow's orientation meetings and meeting the new team! I was able to help with embarkation of the new team today being I was already settled in and it REALLY seems like a great group of folks! Each voyage surely takes on a life of its own and it has been wonderful reminising with voyagers gone by AND I am surely looking forward to creating anew the voyage of Spring, 2011!
good night for now and more stories tomorrow... worldlyheart ro
