St Debbie's Watch and more
Hi everyone~
I missed a day on here but surely did not miss a day here-a bit crazy and needed to go to bed at a normal hour...but today, we get some more time with clocks being turned back, so I am in heaven tonight! I did start the day off with a workout once again, and of course on day 6 my pedometer breaks down-my guess would be that is was a 7500 step day!
So, for those who sailed with me in 2000 know what St Debbie's Watch means...and that was an internal code to let each other know where there was a gathering of sorts happening after a long hard day...and last night was the first gathering of women to celebrate...meet Debbie, me, Kate, Abby and Theresa at the gathering...you can imagine the conversation was grand and the laughs were many!

We also had a little upset today in the Global studies course-cannot really get into here but will write more about it in my private emails to all of you later...let's just say that the typical faculty-staff/student/community digression happened today with a professor who talked about Japanese culture in a way that was offensive to many in the community-we are working together to work it out, but lots of upset throughout the day that the Admin team dealt with. Tonight in about 30 minutes, I am running a "fill out all of your VISAS meeting with the Chief Purser, where we will together fill out all necessary paperwork for all of the countries we are about to visit. This typically happened before each port, but we decided to do in all in one meeting-should be quite interesting.
Tomorrow is another day... until then!
love, ro

Hi hon - looks like your adventure is well underway! My envy is great, but glad to share in the adventure with your blog.
This past weekend was Labor Day and as I found myself performing the labor of painting trim in the kitchen (which is done now - well 99%) I thought "I wonder what Tim and Ro are doing...."
No great news here really - just doing the day to day thing for now and getting ready for the quarter to start on 9/23.
Looking forward to notes from your next port - love, anna
Roey!! I wish I could join you and Debbie and the rest in St. Debbie's Watch :)
My desk is in front of a GIANT world map. We printed off a small, color picture of the ship...and we're tracking you across the globe. You just passed into Charlie's cube--damn! I won't get you guys back until the Suez Canal (my cube is pretty small :) We're being very precise about it. We're using the Bridge Reports that Kate sends to the ISE staff. Hugs to Kate and Debbie!
Cheers
Mel
Ro,
Thanks for creating the time for us. I'm grading summaries of an essay and enjoy the detour from my desk with you.
